Building a chimney breast

Could anyone please give me guidence on building a chimney breast, it forms part of a conservatory, but iv no knowledge of building.

Any help would be appreciated

If you are building the chimney within the breast, there are lots of rules.
I removed a breast all the way through the house then wanted a fireplace & had to reinstate the chimney, it was more involved than what I had removed. It was in a 1945 ish house.

I used clay pots (liners I think they were ) as the chimney all the way up & connected to the original stack in the loft.
Then built the breast at the bottom, when I got to the bedroom I boxed the liner in using fiberglass as insulation.

The first thing you need to decide is the size of the fireplace opening - this determines the size of the flue. Bigger opening = bigger flue. There is a formula which you need to look up.

When the new chimney is complete you must fix a permanent notice in the property stating the limitations of use of the fireplace.

Personally I would advise going for a chimney system from one of the specialist manufacturers. Dunbrik, Redbank, Hepworth etc.
