building a door frame

first of all, its not my house. but my apartment has no front door. i pay next to nothing as rent. if i want a front door, i have to do the work & foot the bill myself. i have a door that fits the area. but where can i find building a simple door frame from scratch? recommendations?

Something like this usually fits the bill over here.

Normally done in 2" x 4" timber. Put strips of thinner timber around the inside to act as a door-stop.
