Good evening everybody,

I'm considering building a new shed/workshop in the new year and was wondering if it would be possible to use t&g floorboards for the exterior walls?

They would of course be treated with something like Timbercare.

Just after a few thoughts really.

Cheers everybody.

Probably not, exterior t&q boards usually have a profile which enables them to shed water effectively.
Shiplap will probably cost the same price, but if you are getting them free or cheap then you could give it a go, but with possible consequences.

I am using decking boards for one side of my shed, but I have to plane them top and bottom to discourage water ingress.

Personally I wouldn't use any timber outside that wasn't pressure-treated. While its not perfect, its way better than a surface treatment, such as the one you describe.
