Hello everyone, a builder has told us we will need to submit a building control notice for some work being done moving a bathroom and also making some kitchen alterations. I wonder, do we need to apply once with the details of the work to both rooms, and pay one fee, or do we need to put two applications in - one per room - and pay two fees?

All of the work will be taking place and hopefully completing at the same time.

As above, it can all be done under one fee. The building regulation fee's will be calculated on an estimated cost of work basis.

However, if you were talking about erecting a extension and carrying out a loft conversion (if both required planning permission), then they too can be applied for under one application OR many people do it under two seperate applications because if for whatever reason, there are problems with one part of the works, the other will not be affected. So if a refusal was expected for the extension, the loft would be refused too. If they were applied seperately, only the extension would be refused with a chance of the loft still being approved.

Just a note for future reference :)
