im looking at build out my porch under the existing roof and make existing outside cupboard inside the porch.
Tops:
bottom:
i know that no planning permission will be needed for this due to asking my building inspector when i had an extension built on the rear of my house.
the hight is about 2m and i will need to dig out some footings next to concrete pathway for the wall to sit on.
- what is the standard depth for a non-cavity wall (the bricks will be built up like shown in picture three)
i will be using the existing door in place of the new opening and the current one will be replaced by another.. but
as (slightly shown) in picture one the concrete falls slightly and this works in my favour as it will allow me to have bricks along the bottom (as is) and also one coarse along the top. its tight but it will fit.
- will one coarse be enough? (with lintel?)
in picture two we can see the structure holding up the roof.
- if using an acro prop, would i be ok just building the brick work up to the horizontal piece of wood, leaving the roof to rest on top?
or should i remove that piece of wood and build the brick work up into it?
any tips or hints on the best way to start all this?
thanks in advance guys and 'girls.
