Hi all

I'm currently having my garage converted into a kitchen and the building control office has said I need a heat detector in the kitchen to meet the regs. Any idea if this has to be mains fed?

Also as the rest of my smoke alarms in the house are basic 9v battery versions are they likely to insist I change them all around the house to mains fed interconnected ones?

Thanks in advance

Mark

Personally I'd install a mains interlinked heat detector with smoke detectors, think the heat detectors are about £30 from screwfix and smoke detectors £10-£20.

Ask your building control inspector what they want you to install.
