The difference between my house floor and extension floor is 18mm. What is the the most cost effective way to level them up myself? I was going to go for moisture resistant T and G boards as they come in 18mm and are well within my DIY skills. However, its 38m2 and will cost almost £400. Any alternative ways for a novice? Thanks

Have a look at self levelling compound (SLC) got a feeling Though, it might not be cheaper. But worth a look.

If your floor is not level though, you’ll be able to get it level with SLC. Simple mix it with water, pour on your slab and repeat, until you are were you want to be.
