hi-am just about to make a structural bulkhead to be bolted to the frames of my beloved wooden boat. the bulkhead will be completely internal and will be faced on both sides with 12mm mahogany T&G planking. i was going to use marine ply but is this absolutely neccesary? wouldnt any ply, or even MDF do? many thanks...

heeeellloo and welcome yourmomm :D :D :D :D

go for exterior ply and smile ;)

at the money you save

As it hopefully won't be comming into contact with salt water an exterior (WBP) ply should be OK. Or you can get marine ply that is not upto Lloyds spec for a few pounds more than WBP which is still a lot less than something like Anchor brand Marine ply.

Don't go for MDF, even MR (moisture resistant) can swell if it gets too damp.
