Does anyone here have a long genuine Burberry coat? If so, when and where did you buy it, and how much did you pay?

I bought one in Burberry's in the Haymarket. That was when they were considered smart in the City. Cost me about £120. They were called Trench Coats then.

Probably before you were born

Same as John for me, too. Haymarket, late eighties but I think it cost around £150...maybe a bit more. Hope you are not about to launch a few disparaging remarks, Crafty.............after all this was 20 BC.....Before Chavdom! :)

I'm actually trying to sell one on ebay! deceased relative owned it, my grandad gave it to me to sell. I saw a few on there, with stupidly low bids, so i put a reserve of £50 on it. Theres a woman's one on there, with a bid of £250 yesterday!

Following your post, Crafty, I took a look at the Burberry website. Totally perplexed at the cost of these items in 2007. £600 - £700! Admittedly mine is still in pretty good nick (then so's me £15 anorak from Plebmark) but those prices are off the wall. It's a ****ing raincoat for Christ's sake. Better up your reserve, now!

advertise it with a free asbo certificate as well, that will put the price up!
