Seems I may have decided that gas ain't much cop and bagged myself a job as an electrician/controls engineer.

Does any one have any info on M Bus or Amarc controls please.

The M Bus is only really used by the DNO and is rather a specialised system. Profibus and other data link systems are more common and you may get people who have used it. The D-Link is also common although I think it should be banned.

As to Association for Manuscripts and Archives in Research Collections (AMARC) or Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (previously known as AMARC, the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center) I am sure they are not what you are referring to I have found many problems using letters without a description like FCU (Fused Connection Unit) and like I have just done on the first mention it does need some further description.

scada when talked about in a post about a PLC may be understood but many will not even know with a PLC is (Programmable logic control) and this is a DIY forum so when talking about specialised subjects really you should be using specialised forums. You may have a better response with the IET forum.

I did my degree in 2006 and we did not touch M Bus. It is half way between IT and Electronic engineering so not sure where you will get info on this subject.

Thanks for your post.

One of the systems is defiantly all M Bus, it's all non DNO related metering for heat and power.

AMARC Comtrols are an Italian company that specifically manufacture ATEX Panels for the heating industry, being Italian theres very little info available and no English site support.

The other aspects of the job I know where to find some of what I need, so Trend 963, West Controls.

It's been a few years since I worked as a sparky so need to dig out all my old stuff. Will try the IET and email a couple of my old colleagues.

By M Bus are you talking about Modbus?

I work with industrial control systems and PLC controllers and networks. I have a small about of Modbus stuff on my sites so have an understanding. We also use profibus a fair amount.

No I meant as wrote,M Bus, ie the European protocol for remote communication to metering of gas/elec/heat.

Currently doing a MSC in industrial and commercial combustion engineering.

Always done both trades since leaving school.
