Hi, we're looking at a house built early 90s.

Have noticed the brick mortar pointing in parts of the property filled worn / removed over time.

Example images attached

a. side elevation upper part of wall

b. Rear extension (though likely original build) marked up in blue lines where mortar appears to have been redone.

c. a shot of overall position.

Is this a problem for a property of its age (relatively young) anything to consider in terms of causes and also resolution?

Thanks

Doesn't look bad to me for a 30year old house. I can't be sure from the photos, but the original looks likely to have had a flush joint, possibly recessed slightly with a wooden dowell. This type of joint is popular with irregular shaped bricks to give an older style look to a property. However, it usually weather's slightly quicker than a normal, metal tooled rounded joint.

Yes there's definitely been an attempt make it look older through brick selection at least. I'm not a huge fan, but like the layout !

I've attached another pic which shows pointing elsewhere that just looks worn / disintegrating. Would there maybe be anything fundamental to worry about here warranting in walking away?
