Following on from another post, do you guys who use Amtech and the like trust it or do you check the results yourself?
I prefer to do all my calcs myself, but then again I'm not self-employed :D
 
I used to periodically check, but it is always correct.

You get a feel for what size to expect, as you do when manually calcing.

I would not be without it - doing it by hand, expecially for large jobs with many submains etc, is a PITA!
 
As Lectrician says, the only errors are user errors :oops: :lol:

The package we use also prints the full site schematic, dis board charts, predicted test results, fault currents at any part of the installation, basically more information than you need in a life time!

Personally, I don't think it's that expensive compared with other bespoke software packages and it save hours of calculations.

It also allows you to quickly play with different designs which can also save money.

IMO 10/10
