Hi,

I'm about to embark on my first complete rewire but I was wondering about clipping the cables. I was taught that cables should be clipped every 10cm with the nail at the bottom and no clips on corners which is great but completely impractical on a rewire unless you are going to completely tear up every floor. On the rewires that I have seen that have (presumably) been done by professionals cables are usually just pushed under the floor and rest on the ceiling / subfloor. Is this acceptable?

What do most professional electricians do?

Yes, not much choice unless you have full access.
