Cable colour regs

Scrap the old cable and buy new, if your going to do the job, at least do it right from the start, with nice shiny new stuff!
If the cable was off old reel and never used, I would say sleeve them to colour codes but it used, leave it out for the local ***** or strip it and take it to the scrapers!

strip it and take it to the scrapers!
Thought about that - got rakes of copper from the plumbing, but a job and a half stripping cable isn't it, or is there a simple way?

Had I realised your cable had already been used as opposed to cable that was on a roll that hadn't been used i wouldn't have suggested using sleeving. Just saying like

If you have the money to do a 45 sq m kitchen area than spending out £100 odd on new cabling isn't exactly bashing the overall budget is it ?

Wiring is a do once every 30+ years, do it right and use new.

With the sub CU being in the room none of the circuit runs are going to be more than 10m or so for radials or 25m for rings.

£16 for 50m TE 1.5mm, £40 for 100m TE 2.5mm

If I'm usung an older version of the Part P then I may be wrong. But in the 2006 revision of Part P which I'm using, Appendix D on harmonised colours sates that after March 2006 only the new colours can be used

Never have and never will be a fan of the Part P but that is what they state.

Stand correctly thanks Holms.

Been a couple of years since done any Part P but I think I always used the approved document but always nice to told straight.

Funny enough got an email from LABC reminding us that F,G,J and L ( old and new non and dwellings) came into force on the 1st but I'm having trouble with just Part P by the looks of things :)

I did forget the guidnace part, but I have to say like the BRB and the approved documents, I follow that and know you must be there or there abouts.
