Cable size for pendant light

Hi there, Can anyone tell me what size cable I need for connecting a simple pendant light fitting to the ceiling rose? I have one already and cable needs extending so I can hang it from the right spot on the ceiling. The existing cable has a blue and brown wire connecting a plastic light fitting. I have a 0.75mm 2 core cable from Wickes max rating 240 Volts = 6 amps (1440 watts). Is this OK?

The cable itself is fine assuming it is just a lamp holder that is required and thus not earthed. I would check with a spark that is doesn't need to be heat resistant cable though (on here).

I have only ever wired up complete pendent packages so never had to make my own cable for one.

I generally use HR for lamp holders.
