I am trying to wire in a 2 way lighting pendant.
What I have is 4 cables coming out of the ceiling.
2 cables are red, black and yellow and 2 cables are blue, red and yellow.
My new pendant is blue and brown terminals.
So far I have wired all red together in the pendant and all yellow to earths in pendant but what to do with the 2 blue and 2 black.
No sleaving is on any cable!!!
What now?

Two way lighting circuits are normally wired through the switches as per wiki.

The blue, red and yellow cables are the old three core colour - not sure about the red, black and yellow (unless you mean yellow/green cpc).

Photographs of the ceiling rose wiring and inside the two switches would be helpful. Make sure the power is of before removing the switches etc.

Are you certain you've got that right?

Unusual for a cable to have red, black, yellow. Is the yellow a bare earth with green and yellow sleeving?

Does the cables with red, yellow and blue have a separate earth wire, possibly cut off?

Pictures would be welcome.

Sorry yes yellow is earth. No wires cut off as far as I can see.

Is 'yellow' the earth on just the red/black cables?

Has yelow been used as earth on the 'red, yellow blue' cable, or is there a separate earth wire on these cables?

Do the switches control just this one light?

What colour wire goes to the 'common' terminal at the switches?

What room is this in?
Are there otherlights in the room from the same switch
Is there an extractor fan?

What do you exactly mean by "two way lighting pendant".
