hi guys ----running new cables in for cooker , shower etc , as we dont know the ratings of either yet -ie still in shop , is it ok to fun 10 mm for shower + 6 mm for cooker even if it turns out it does not need that size , in other words will it matter if the calbe is to big ? thanks

Actually, I did exaggerate about size.

Sometimes it can be too big - wouldn't fancy wiring ceiling roses in 2.5mm², and you couldn't physically get anything bigger than that in.

But shower circuits in 10mm² (or 16mm² :eek: ), and cookers in 6/10mm² even if the loads don't need it are OK.
