I have looked through the wiki and old posts but need some more information on this.
Yesterday I was cleaning my shower and turned the temperature dial back towards cold and it sounded like it had clicked back (much like when you overtighten a plastic screw). Anyway, the result is the shower is now colder...
Anyway I had a look and saw that the thermostatic shower valve can be calibrated. I have found numerous pdfs that explain it yet none seem to apply to my valve.
Here are some snaps.....

I thought that turning the brass cog would have allowed me to adjust it (the chrome casing seems to infer it can be turned) but that is stuck (though that may be the intent). Also saw that some models allow adjustment but inserting a flat head screwdriver into the spindle, but couldn't find a slot.
The valve was purchased from bath store about 18 months ago. As for the original installer, we had to get rid of him, cos he smashed our shower tray and generally messed up all the tiling (that needed re-doing).
All help gratefully received.
