Can a normal household oil tank be burried in the ground?

Only specially made oil tanks can be buried, the Regulations that apply to buried oil tanks are as thick as "war & peace" ! contact OFTEC for guidence (www.oftec.uk) My advice is once you have read the installation requirements you won't want to fit a buried oil store!! 
specially constructed tank reguired, also need to check with regional enviromental authority.
