Can anyone tell me what these tiny screws are called and what i need to remove them!

hello everyone, Can anyone tell me what these tiny screws are called and what type of tool i need to remove them! They are inside an electric radiator that has gone wrong and they have sent me the spare part to replace but i cannot get this off. never seen these before!

They look like standard PH2 in that pic?

If they definitely aren't PH2, can you take a clearer pic? Try from further away, and then crop your image before you upload it, rather than pitting the camera very close and having it struggle to focus.

If you aren't sure how to crop a photo, and you have an iPhone, pinch/spread your fingers to zoom the photo then tap the word (Crop) that appears at the top right, or tap the "three lines with dots" icon under the photo as you view it then choose crop, and pinch zoom. On android hit the pencil to edit the photo, choose crop and drag the handles appropriately

More likely PH1 - look at the comparative size of the 6.3mm spade connector.

Or one of those CSC (Chinese Special Crosshead) which is neither PH nor PZ.

Toadman - just try small PH or PZ screwdrivers - just insert and try rotating back and forth a little with virtually no pressure, and find one which doesn't move in the head, or moves the least.

Then, gripping the device with pliers to stop it moving, push the screwdriver in as hard as you can and turn.

Aye maybe. The only reservation I had about claiming it was a PH anything was the assertion the OP has "never seen these kind of screws" - and what human hasn't seen a PH headed screw?

I think it's more visible on the RH screw, but are they those 'hybrid' ones which can be turned either with a crosshead screwdriver or a flat blade in one of the slots?

Yea, though I'd expect the general public just see "plus shaped screw slot. Must be this plus shaped screwdriver I have here" skip over the nuances of PH/PZ entirely, call it a cross head and be done with it!

Anyhow, OP - clearer pic please! Just about everything else in that pic is easily discernible but not the thing being asked about!

In the new picture, they aren’t screws they are rivets. YOU DON’T REMOVE THEM. The wires are crimped to spade connectors, which simply pull off the component.

(These rivets weren’t visible in your original photo. You seem to have successfully removed the two screws that were visible there. Are you sure you are competent to be doing this work????)

I would have said they're either Philips, Pozidriv or Supadriv, unless there's a Chinese variety. I don't see why they'd be particularly tight, so should come out with a Pozi screwdriver, but make sure it's the right size.

In addition to endecotp's advice, some spade connectors have locking tabs on, for example this one would have to have this tab pushed down to release:

Others just have a little metal knob that helps retain it but is a pull-off kind:

Put your fingers around this rubber coated bit, arrows, and attempt to pull the connector off of the component:

If it won't release with some relevant determined effort, roll, peel or cut the rubber back so you can better see what you're dealing with. You won't need to replace it, but just cut approx 10mm off (ie up to the point that it narrows)to reveal all you need to see to make an assessment

I don't know about a Chinese version but there definitely is a Japanese Industry Standard (JIS) screw head which looks very similar to Phillips but is just different enough to cause problems in high torque situations. Commonly found on Japanese consumer electronics and cars.
