Probably subbed out to some cheap contractor. You should expect a near invisible make good - including imprinted concrete, which can be repaired by a specialist but not your average navvy with a barrow of tarmac.

There is no reason they can't repair the imprinted concrete to the same standard. Plenty of companies offer this service. A claim for damages would be straight forward.
