Can I connect talktalk box to sky box?

My tv has two hdmi ports.

If I connect my talk talk tv box to my sky box using a scart will the tv box signal go through the sky box via its hdmi lead and on to the tv?

This will then allow me to use my dvd recorder on my tv via its hdmi.

The SCART socket doesn't work that way. It's only a pass-thru for the SCART signals. It doesn't convert SCART to HDMI. The Sky box doesn't have the capability to convert connection formats.

If you have run out of HDMI sockets on the TV then buy a HDMI Switch. Make sure it's a switch and not a splitter. The two things are not the same though people seem to get them confused all the time.
