Hi I am going to do some brickwork and i am not experienced with brick cutting but I have one of these

http://www.screwfix.com/prods/83810/Power-Tools/Construction-Equipment/Makita-2414NB-1-Chop-Saw-110V

It takes huge 14" blades but looking on the net is only advertised with metal disks. Screwfix only seem to do this size in metal cutting disks not stone cutting for some reason, but on further looking on the net you can get this size for stone cutting. But is it ok to cut bricks with this saw?

No. Use a cheap (if it's for a one-off job) 9 inch grinder with a diamond blade.

If you decide to get a stone cutting disc for the chopsaw, ensure that the disc is ok to use at the speed of the chopsaw - it might be too slow.

"Brick dust" is a very good abrasive, it will get into the pivots/linkages/bearings of your saw and will ruin it.

Wet or dry.
