Can I DIY repair this small tiled roof section or does it need proper roofing work?

I’m looking for advice from roofers rather than posting this as a job at this stage.


I have attached a photo. The issue is with the small tiled section directly below the white/rendered wall. Some of the tiles look damaged, loose or missing, and I’m trying to understand whether this is a simple DIY repair or something that needs a roofer.


My question is: can this be repaired by replacing the damaged tiles and bedding/fixing them with mortar, or is that the wrong approach?

Poor photo but look to be slates, flashing has fallen sway but can’t see what type it is.
