I have a valiant boiler ( not sure what model, can't see a plate anywhere I can get to.. )

it's the kind that does the rads and the hot water ( direct, no tank ).

with both the hot and cold taps cranked open there is a good flow of water and the hot remains hot..

Do you think it would be possible for me to fit a mixing shower instead of the existing electric one when I get round to re-doing my bathroom?

distance from boiler to bathroom is about 4 meters through the kitchen ( I live in a first floor flat, kitchen is next to bathroom ).
Pipe diameter is 15mm although the hot comes out of the boiler at 22mm and is reduced down within 1M of the boiler... this can be changed if needs be as I'm in the middle of doing the kitchen..

Only person living there but it is a 2 bedroom and may have wife and kid at some point.. :D

Should have no probs however I would reccommend a thermostatic shower valve to compensate for the boilers fluctuation in hot water delivery. Saves you having to manually adjust each time and can prevent you being scalded.

What fluffster means is you can get a thermostatic mixer (keeps stable temperature) or just a mixer (you set temp by the flow), if any water is drawn from another source (tap, toilet etc). With the latter you could get either scalded or shrivel.

Go for a pressure balancing mixer valve like the Mira Combiflow.
