Can I fit a TRV to either end of the rad?

Hi all,
I wish to add a TRV to a rad. Can I stick it on either end of the rad to restrict the flow in or out? Does it make a difference?

Either end will do, just get bi-directional ones.

from what i read on these forums, it depends on the trv, it must be placed in the direction of flow acording to the arrow on the trv, although some do not matter
