My daughter's flat has a Fortic which is due for replacement. There is no gas, and the cold pressure is great. So, she has lousy HW flow from the Fortic, and loads of flow from the cold taps. The electric shower isn't exactly Niagara Falls either!

Can you buy an unvented cylinder just for use with an Economy 7 immersion element? If yes, who makes them?

Any of the manufacturers of unvented cylinders can supply a cylinder with direct heating only... Bear in mind the water pressure and flow as it may not be sufficient, Your registered installer can advise...

Also bear in mind that if you are using E7, then you will need to heat ALL of your hot water requirement for the day otherwise you will need to boost the water temperature using peak rate electricity... So make sure that the cylinder that you fit will provide all of your anticipated requirement...

You'll need to get your Spark to run two circuits to the cylinder, one for E7 and the other to run on daytime electricity to provide an emergency back up just in case you do run out of hot water...

You only need 1 circuit for the immersions. You are able to use a variety of controllers that can be set for low rate and boost.

But you may need to have an ugraded supply if you use a direct unvented cylinder as quite a few use 6kw (2x 3kw immersions at the same time)
