Can I have Multiple Door Chimes on Standard Bell Wire?

With the ever increasing use of "convenient" wireless equipment without a matching increase in available radio channels there will come the time when things will fail to work reliably.

So if the option to use wires is there then use ( or at least install ) wires and future proof the door bell against the almost inevitable day when over use of the radio channel by euipment in and around your house prevents reliable operation of your door bell and other short range, licence free ( and therefore un-regulated) wireless equipment.

The guy at Byron ...

Byron bells are not the best, IMHO.

If you want a clear bell with good carrying tone and low current requirement then use an electronic bell

12 volt 60 mA and 96 dB output.

For bell push I would always recommend a mains rated momentary switch such as

or for external use

obviously you do not run the mains supply to the bell transformer through the switch (unless you really want to, and it's mains-rated wiring)
