Can I install a microwave above my cooker?

I have just moved into my new house and the kitchen is a tricky size, I have a freestanding electric cooker with ceramic hob and want to know if it is safe to install a microwave oven above the cooker? if it is safe,what is the minimum height above the hob?

in my humble opinion not a good idea at all

it would need to be at least 30" above the cooker getting covered in steam grease

can you imagin the senario leaning over a hot cooker with boiling pans on it streching to open a greasy microwave at eye level and pull out a plate and keep it level

you try holding a heavy plate level above head height
