Can I leave hardcore a few months before paving ?

Hi all

Just constructing a sleeper wall (2 high) to raise the patio area at the rear of my house.

Question:

Can I leave the whacked hardcore a couple of months untill I pave it all?

This way I get to bring he height up so it's safe for my kids, but not pave it until I can afford the paving (currently the kids are almost falling out of our bi folds hah)

I waited 5 years until I paved my front drive, it was dug out then MOT type 1 was put down. (had to wait to get the funds to block pave it)
When they came to block pave they added new type 1 to adjust the levels and wack down again. That was 5 years ago and the drive is sound.
