Can I make a complaint to Building control

I need to get my facts right before I approach them. But seeing what you see do they have a defence?
Not really no. You would expect the felt to be carried under the new valley, with a wee bit beyond (on the existing non-felted side), so that there is adequate lap should you wish to improve the non-felted side in the future. With the way they have left it means that you would have to remove the valley in order to complete any renovations on the existing side of the roof. Total pants.
The lack of mortar bedding is amateurish and naïve.

My local be office once kindly Ben the rules a little on a roof replacement so that I could present their opinion in court.. They helped me out by saying it was notifiable (when it wasn't really) and going into detail as to where it didn't meet regs. I won, and the fly by night fool earned a ccj. Fat lot of good it did me, mind.. He transferred everything he had to his wife, closed the business and claimed he had nothing to compensate me with. At the very least it put him out of action for a while, but if you're hoping to win some funds to put it right, it might be a long and fruitless exercise. If you're hoping to force him to come back, question whether any remedy will similarly be an ass job

Inspector poped his head in today. He tells me jobs not even been signed off.
He was pretty damming of the builder and will write a letter leaning on him.

I'm not fussed if he comes back to put right. If he don't I'll upset his apple cart
If he does then all we'll and good.

I think he'll think it best that he does. Not done them selfs any favours as. Build control have their card marked now.

Sounds dodgy to me. If the job is controlled by LA inspectors then these guys don't usually get involved in anything out of their jurisdiction. I'd be inclined to send my own letter as his may be a bit wishy-washy.

Maybe let him write the letter first then see if it's any use!

He said the roof is not water tight so and the installation was poorly installed
He also asked questions if the insulated under finished floor. I don't think they did.

I'll see
