Can I put 15mm isolating valves in my heating system to allow me to work on part of it while the rest can run as normal and then open it up when ready? It can then be isolated again at a later date if ever required.

Or are they only meant to be used in the normal H&C water system for removal of basin WC etc.? Could they be a potential leak problem in the future?
Thanks

Yes you can, if you use good quality ones (pegler + full bore)they are always a potential source of future leaks, and obviously to fit them you'll need to put the whole heating system out of use to begin with.

Depends on the valves.

Thanks, I'm sure it does depend on the valves, but which would they be? I'm really asking if it is a usual, normal and advisable practice and if so, what valve would be least likely to fail later down the line buried beneath floorboards? Or isn't that wise at all? A bit more info if you would please. Thanks.
