Where the Openreach cable touches my house, it goes into a black box. Out of that box come two separate feeds to two different sockets around the house. Since Openreach are responsible for everything up to the master socket (though since both come directly off the OR line, does this make 2 master sockets?), does this mean I'm not allowed to cut one of the unused lines and remove that cabling?
Can I remove old phone line?

A house that I recently worked at had two master sockets (not the NTE5 types) (on the same phone number). Two cables ran from the black exterior box. I snipped one off and used new gel filled crimps (2 cores) to replace the 3 core crimps (using the proper pliers).
