Wanting to open up this space from the living room to the dining area by removing this stud wall. Removed the plasterboard and uncovered an old rsj above. The stud work underneath isn't tied into anything. Just butts up to the brickwork and up against the rsj. Is it safe to remove all studwork underneath the rsj? Included photos in the hope I'm making sense lol
Thanks for any help given.

The bedroom/bathroom above not likely to fall on my head after removal? Lol

What would I be checking for? Would the studwork be holding any of the weight?
The door lining is only screwed into the brick pillar on the left. And the middle section which looks like newer cls used to be an opening with glass from speaking to neighbours who have the same setup.

Nothing supporting in photo.
Could do with bricks under rsj in gap

So I could remove the studwork and pop a couple of bricks in the gap? With mortar obviously.
