Just noticed there's exhaust gas leaking out from where this plastic pipe joins the flue, and it looks a bit knackered.

It *LOOKS* like a simple question of turning it off, undoing the Jubilee clips, and replacing the hose.... am I right, or is there more to it than that?

If I can do it, where might I get a new hose?

Thanks

Sorry, it's a Riello burner on a Firebird boiler.

I would think it would need testing before and after by a gas safe engineer to ensure there are no leaks anywhere

If you really have flue gas leaking from that joint you have a problem.
The plastic hose is a air duct!
Burner out smoke pellet in stick burner back in quickly.
See where smoke leaks out.
Sorry, me not knowing what I'm talking about as usual. It might be steam coming out - is that likely? Come to think of it, there's no smell of fumes in the garage... the big plastic hose seems to be leaking where it joins the actual burner - I can see what may be vapour coming out?

You won't smell the nasty ones, for example with carbon monoxide you'll just drift off to sleep and not wake up.
Yeah that's true. Good thing I don't often sleep in the garage...

And of course the CO detector :D

So what is that pipe for? Seems to connect to the kind of jacket of the flue, so maybe nothing to do with exhaust gases at all...

Turn it off and call a proper oil boiler company out. If there's a problem it will kill you just as efficiently as a gas boiler would

You've already demonstrated that you aren't familiar with the layout of the appliance.

Is it really worth playing with?
