Can I use sealant to fix a leaking condensing trap?

Hi all,

I had a new Biasi boiler fitted back in May to a house we've been renovating and are just about to move into. Since it was installed the boiler has remained off.

Now we've come to turn it on I've noticed a small water leak coming from under the boiler. Probably leaking about one drip an hour. Unfortunately my Corgi installer has since moved to Australia (lucky him) and we're flat broke so can't really afford to get another plumber out to look.

I took the front off the boiler and have identified the leak as coming from the top of condensate trap (blue arrow in picture to show where the water was). This was slightly loose, and I was able to turn it about an quarter of a turn before it was fully tight.

I hope this should be sufficient to stop the leak but wanted to ask whether there was any harm in putting a bit of sealant around the top of the trap if it continues to leak?

surely its under warranty? don't start putting sealant all over it. Its a bodge and it will probably put your warranty into question... Call out Biasi
