Can I Use Standard twin and earth cable in this instance

If a cable is chased into an external wall and hidden in the soffit/fascia board so it is never visible, can I just standard 1mm/1.5mm twin and earth flat cable?

Or do I have to use another type of cable?

As long as it's not exposed to sunlight it would be fine.

is that because sunlight will degrade the insulation and thus the electrical connection?

Pretty much ,T&E is really intended for internal use ,direct sunlight tends to make it brittle ,and lose its insulation quality's,albeit takes years and years to degrade.
