I recently lightly jet washed a friends decking, it was a shade of green and now looks like new. However. his wife has now said that the wood has 'bowed', could jet washing a deck cause the planks to 'bow'?
Jet washing can lead to water penetration to the top of the planks if it’s not well sealed. Unequal moisture content in the top of the planks will cause the top to expand more than the bottom & in this case the board would bow upwards. If that’s the case it will hopefully dry out in warmer weather & shrink back to its original shape.
