After contacting my meter installer of 30 years ago (SSEB now Scottish Power) and explained that my meters main connections were never tightened, and had resulted lately, in power quality probems, they deny that loose meter connections could cause premature appliance failure.

Can anyone confirm or deny their claim please?

I have had multiple appliance failures in the past 2 years.

Cheers,

Paul

loss of or erratic voltage on electronic controlled equipment would in my opinion cause premature failures due to spikes etc damaging components on the PCB. Toasters and kettles probably not. Only problem you have got is proving it to your supplier.
