Hi,

Can you get an integrated oven with a delay start on??. What i mean by that is you set the start time to 4pm on the oven and at 4pm the oven starts up and cooks the food.

I have been looking to no avail and its also hard as the specs just say "programmable" and I then have to find the instructions from the manufacturers site to see if it will do it.

My wife seems to think you can get this but I personally think its a health and safety risk so they may not do it!

Thanks

Most of those with a clock on the front can do that. They are also the ones where the oven won't work until the time is set, resulting in the thing not working after a brief power failure.

They will switch the oven on at a predefined time, but do not switch it off.
This is ideal for switching the oven on before you get home, so that after being delayed in traffic for a hour, your can look forward to an evening of scraping the burnt remains of your dinner out of the oven, and cleaning the entire kitchen to remove the smoke residue.

I'm fairly sure mine and many others can do delayed start and set cooking time, so that after being delayed in traffic for an hour you can look forward to a perfectly cooked meal that has cooled slowly, collapsed into sludge, and started fermenting bacteria.

The real question is why your wife wants to leave the house at 4 pm instead of being at home to turn the oven on.

Slow cookers were popular for this purpose in the 1970s.

It is possibole on any cooker now, has to be electric one though, using an App for your smart phone and a small interface adapter. look on ebayu.

(only joking, but won't surprise me if one already exists where you can turn home appliances on & off using your smart phone)

Yes that is a good question why your wife wants to do this, ask her to spill the beans.

Our Neff oven had programable starts on its clunky mechanical timer / clock. We seldom used it. Neff still produce ovens with programbale cooking

from that page said:
TO SET THE OVEN FOR AN AUTOMATIC START/STOP COOKING PERIOD

Select the cooking function and press the

to show the

symbol and use the rotary button to enter the cooking duration (how long the food needs to cook for). Press the

again to

and use the rotary button to select the end time (the time you want the food to be ready for).

That one you linked to allows you to set cooking duration and time you want food to be ready.
