Can you mix radiator inhibitors ?

Where on the system would you recommend ? And what filter would be best ?

It fits on the return pipe close to the boiler,

So in your pic looks like plenty of room under the boiler to install one.

Adey Magna clean or fernox tf1 omega with the shut off valves people say are the best.

My boiler must be around 15 years old I'm guessing . Would the filter be used on a new boiler if I need one soon ?

Yes, but if you already have a decent filter fitted like the 2 mentioned above they won't replace it as they are good filters.

Just looking at my pipes .For some reason they are reduced to 15mm just under the boiler all them filters seem to be 22mm

your filling loop is fitted the wrong way round so yes you can use the express

I'm confused , it's fitted the wrong way so I can use it ?
Yes the non -return valve should be on the cold water pipe and the 1/4 turn valve on the heating return, so yours is the other way round, so just diconnect the hose at the 1/4 turn valve end and connect onto the express

Brilliant thanks , I might put the inhibitor in soon then ask my gas guy to fit a filter in the summer (with the annual service) . Pity you can't get a 15mm filter

What side would it go on ? . I'm also thinking of replacing the auto air vent on the pump , I don't think it's working properly as my pump has been loud since my last drain down

Ian, if fitted as you suggested how can the 'temporary link' be removed without making a mess?

OP, I suggest that you have only two or three radiators on your system, otherwise the 15mm pipework would rarely be large enough.
Plus, when fitting a 22mm filter, increase the pipe size on the return side to 22mm (easy to do), so that the filter valves fit easily.
