Hope someone can help.

The wife spilt some sweet and sour sauce in the bottom oven last night. Small amount of it has got into the igniter/flame area. She asked me to clean it off today, so I simply wet a paper towel and wiped the area where the flame comes out.

I have ignited the oven tonight and the flame was low and did not extend across the strip. It appeared that where the sauce was, no blue flame was there. Eventually after a minute or so, it kicked in and most of the strip lit. However to the far right hand side, the flame was yellow. This did not dye down and continued to be yellow.

I turned it off, waited 10 minutes and lit it again, but once again, flame was low and stayed low and it did not extend across the bar.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Alex

Other than cleaning, you will have to get a gas safe registered person who repairs cookers.

This forum does not provide advice on DIY gas repairs.
