can't play wmv file

i have a wmv file that wont play with windows media player10.
i have put it through g spot but that doesn't even know what codecs are required to play it.
anyone got any ideas?

I'm not an expert but you could try Cdex which converts files to wav or mp3 format.
Do a search.

just out of interst is the wmv file on the net? if so can you post a link so we can all try?

Can you get another copy of the wmv from a different source?
I may be corrupt, it may not be a valid wmv file...?
