Hello

I'm changing from a gas hob in my kitchen to an electric hob (I already have an electric oven). Obviously the gas pipe to the old hob needs to be capped, legally does this need to done by a Corgi registered tradesman?

Thanks

Its not Corgi any more, its Gas Safe, but anyway I believe so, yes, but some clever clogs who knows what they are doing will be along in a moment to confirm. I was certainly charged and arm and a leg to do the same...:( :(

Yes, that work requires a gas safe ticket.

Its not just the capping but the testing for safety too.

as already stated YES Gas safe needed, Let by and tightness tests needed to ensure same result after capping as before ( tightness )

nobody uses anymore then..

or do you just stand and watch the meter for a few mins..

lol

You can't use a lighter it has to be safety matches.

Not the meter the manometer . To asertain the gas tightness of the installation.

Sure it`s not a nano meter in this hi tech age
