Capping off a radiator

I am knocking through a studded wall which currently has a radiator on it.

I first of all need to know how to cap off a radiator? One side has got a thermostat on it.

Also I assume I can then just secure the capped off pipes back under the floorboards

Any help appreciated

Drain or freeze the pipes and take them back as far as poss, preferably to the last T, to avoid getting air trapped.
