Does anyone remember caps? I'm even doubting my own mind saying the word... but as a kid they were a strip of paper rolled up with black circles on that we put in 'cap guns'? didn't we?
Are they still available? would kids want them now GTAV is here?

A Colt 45 or Winchester sosay look-a-like :? Was it that long ago?

didn't they come in a round cardboard box, crimped around the edge?

You can still buy 'em down here, in the shoite pound stretcher type toy shops.

I haven't seen 'em in years... it's those plastic ring cartridges, and then electronic guns with noises! And the foam bullet guns... and BB guns?

What do kids play with these days? GTAV!!!

we used to take caps or match heads [before they where safety]
2 bolts and 1 nut
bolt in 2 threads several caps or match heads the other bolt in tight
then throw up in the air until the thing explodes
reload and do it again :D :D
think I might buy some and use a hammer... or a stone.. just so I can smell that smell again !
I don't need a hammer or a stone to smell that smell again.

Hang on, are we talking about the same thing here?

Surprised cap guns haven't fallen foul of 'Elf 'n' safety. Or, anyone using one is likely to see a real gun wielded by the local firearms unit.

Yes, I can remember them. We all had them in those days. I don't know why they ever went out of fashion. Perhaps something to do with kids not playing out any more, or maybe because they all run around pressing buttons on electronic games with things stuck in their ears!

I remember the 'two bolts and a nut' thing, too. A slightly more refined version was a plastic 'bomb' with fins that you loaded with caps and threw up in the air.

Ah! Memories!

Of course, we were too poor to afford such things. We had to make our own 'toys' out of sticks and things. :(
