My son's Corsa e has had new inner and outer tie rods, new drop links as well in the last year. In the past month at low speeds it has made this creaking noise especially when turning, you can just feel it on the top mount and the outer tie rod on the driver's side but I'm at a loss to know what's causing it. You can only just feel it and I'm assuming it's not the new parts. Anyone have any advice?

Try this....jack the car up, feel the spring when someone turns the steering wheel for you. This shows up any strut top bearing problems big time!

Can I assume that advice goes for any make of car with strut top bearings or specifically related to the OP's model ?
For sure, any Macpherson strut system can be checked this way.
Another sort of trick of the trade - if you suspect a wheel bearing fault for example - which often doesn't show up as play - grip the spring and spin the wheel.......you'll feel a thrumming through the spring. Front or rear too!

Many thanks John, my reason for asking is that my old 1998 5 series has an intermittent clonking noise from the front end, when driving over a damaged road surface, for over a year. now. Struts/coil springs/top mounts were renewed by a classic restorer 3yrs/16k ago & the car has since been through 2 MOT's without advisories.
