Car insurance question

My son's car is at the garage for a few weeks and he was looking to insure my car on his insurance so as to not affect mine. My insurer however said if he had an accident in my car on his insurance it would still affect mine.

Any thoughts or opinions on this?

Ask him to pay for you to add him to the insurance and cover any costs out increased premiums that he might cause you to incur
