Carbon motor brushes

Trying to replace brushes on Dyson YDK motor the old bruhes are fixed to the brass holding clip, the new ones just have a plain end on cable.
I don't now how they are fastend to clip don't think they are soldered.
any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you got the right brushes?

I have replaced a few of these -cut the old one and solder the new one.
Watch out though f the armature is damaged in any way it will wear the new brushes away in a few days and back to square one.....
