My wife's vacuum cleaner gets full quite quickly. Seemingly it's mostly all fluff.

1. Does frequent vacuuming a carpet reduce its life?

2. Is there a relatively inexpensive type of carpet that would be best to buy?

Most fluff is human hair
If your carpet is moulting then not much you can do. Quality carpets last a lot longer £ for £
My parents had Axminster fitted in 72 that was perfectly good 40 years later. The basic family rule was always slippers
